The Rockporter is a charming waterfront vacation rental home that sits on a quiet lane in Rockport's Pigeon Cove. You'll be as close to the ocean as one can be on Cape Ann, enjoying sweeping views of Sandy Bay from most rooms in the house. Set up to comfortably sleep 7, the house has an eat-in kitchen, a formal dining room, living room, and a first-floor bedroom and full bath. On the second floor are three additional bedrooms and a full bath.

Enjoy the sea breezes and salt air while relaxing on the patio, or take delight in some of the most spectacular oceanfront walks directly from your front door. Equidistant from spectacular Halibut Point State Park and Rockport’s Back Beach (about a mile in either direction), you can easily explore Pigeon Cove. The small working harbor is not only beautiful but also full of history, with the dormant site of the former Cape Ann Tool Co. on one side and the skyline of downtown Rockport in the other direction. The lobster boats coming and going with their daily catch make harbor watching lively and interesting.

What does my rented vacation home provide?


Since all Atlantic Vacation Homes rental properties are residential homes, and not hotel rooms, they are all fully furnished and include a living room, kitchen, and bedrooms and bathrooms as described on each property detail page.


  • The kitchen includes cooking utensils, pots & pans, dishcloths, potholders, flatware, dishware, glassware and a corkscrew. Standard appliances include a refrigerator, microwave, stove, toaster, and coffee maker. Some properties are equipped with additional items; please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property. If you require specialty items, such as kitchen scales or food processors, it is best to bring your own.

  • Bed linens and bath linens (bath towels, hand towels and face cloths) are provided in accordance with the advertised occupancy of the property. Beds will be made with linens, pillows, blankets, and bedspreads prior to your arrival, with the exception of trundles, top bunks, futons, and sleep sofas.

  • The property includes basic housekeeping supplies, such as brooms and dustpans.

  • Many (but not all) properties have a landline for local calls. Please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property.

  • Air conditioning, beach towels, hot tubs, TVs, DVD players, porch furniture, grills, docks, recreational games and equipment, and other amenities are furnished as a courtesy by the homeowner and are not guaranteed. Please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property for details.

Guests will also receive a “Welcome Kit” that contains:


  • An area guide

  • One kitchen sponge

  • One small bottle of dish soap

  • One dishwasher detergent pod or packet

  • One laundry detergent pod or packet

  • One trash bag

In addition, the complimentary items below are provided as a convenient starter supply for when you first arrive. Additional items beyond the starter supply are the responsibility of the guest.

Wonderful Retreat!

We rented the Rockporter as a home base for the Thanksgiving holiday...and fully enjoyed our time. The house is a traditional New England home with lots of character. Our family of 6 was very comfortable. It appeared to us that many updates have been made...and the views are AMAZING! A very special spot and Rockport was so much fun to explore!

Waterside Wonderful

We loved The Rockporter - comfortable, incredible waterviews (sunrise on the water is amazing - as good or better than any sunset)! So much to do in all of the area towns. We stayed in October so heat (nor cold) was ever an issue. The only thing I'd recommend is a dishwasher and perhaps having someone hammer the nail heads in some of the antique floorboards. Zero hesitation in returning or recommending.

Nice vacation

This house is on a beautiful point with great water views. 5 of us were very comfortable and had ample room. Suggestions: the house really could use A/C units installed because it was very hot (with outside temps in the 70s) and the kitchen could use updated supplies.

Lovely Seaside Property

The property was immaculate when we arrived, and we greatly appreciated all the covid-precautions that had been taken to make us feel safe about our stay. The house is historic and cozy, and each room had New England seaside charm. The location is great for visiting the local beaches, shops in town, and the quarry's beautiful hiking area just minutes away.

The Rock[porter

Overall it was a great experience. A few maintenance issues need to be addressed. !. More screens are needed. It was very hot and many of the windows did not have screens. 2. The kitchen floor was filthy. The rest of the floors were very clean. 3. The landscape (flower beds etc.) were full of weeds and unkempt. 4. The kitchen table and benches are very sticky. No amount of scrubbing fixed the problem. It seems as though the finish on the wood is failing. We had to sit on towels so our clothes would not get stuck to the benches. Everything else was great!

Something to know about The Rockporter

My family enjoyed our stay at The Rockporter. There were some pleasant surprises - 2 of the upstairs bedrooms had a/c units, which isn't mentioned in the property description. On the unpleasant surprise side is the downstairs bedroom and the upstairs bedroom off the back staircase do not have doors. A quirk like that should be noted in the property description; without doors, they're really not bedrooms. The lovely view could be even nicer if some of the greenery growing among the rocks was cutback. Loved having my morning coffee and anadama toast sitting at the kitchen table with the harbor view.

Great Water View

The house is in a great location. It has a nice water view and you could walk into downtown Rockport in less than a half hour. The house was decently decorated and appointed, but not top of the line. In addition to a big water view, you could see a working fishing harbor. Within view was a large former factory being converted into shops. Though some might find it an eyesore, I like industrial re-use buildings,so it was not a problem for me. There were about 4 houses very nearby, so I did not feel isolated. It was a heatwave when we were there, and one of the bedrooms had a fan, but no air conditioning. Typically it is not that hot and this would not be a problem.
