Salt Island Views

This was our second year staying at Salt Island Views and once again the experience was incredible! It's the week on the calendar that I most look forward to. The house is meticulously maintained and has a really family feel to it. We hope to return next year!

This was our second time in 2023 staying at Salt Island Views and our third year returning. It feels like a second home. The house is roomy and open and easy. It is outfitted so you can cook meals easily at home and eat on the beautiful deck. The place was spotless when we arrived, despite it having been rented for most of the summer by other visitors. The location is ideal. It's an easy walk to both Good Harbor and Long Beaches. The sunsets, sunrises and nightscapes are glorious. We particularly like the house and Gloucester because of the region's low-key character and how it lacks the kind of frenzied feel one has in other summer vacation spots. A great spot to sleep, swim, hang out with family, walk, nap, boogie board, paddle board and surf. A purchase of a wetsuit this year greatly improved my appreciation of ocean swimming. (Although the locals never seemed to notice the water temperature.)

Everything about our stay at Salt Island Views was superlative! The house is the ultimate beach house: spacious and inviting, with a deck that offers a spectacular view of Salt Island. You can see the attention to detail in the decoration. Every morning I discovered something new to admire. Access to the beach and to Rockport and Gloucester are second to none! We\'ll most definitely be back!

My family loved our week at this wonderful home. We spent much of the time on the expansive deck watching the changing tides as seagulls drifted back and forth. The house is in a friendly neighborhood with beautifully landscaped homes full of flowers and small gardens. Salt Island Views is located about a 5 minute walk from Good Harbor Beach and a 10 minute walk from Long Beach and was a short walk to a nearby ice cream stand and pizza/sub shop. So much to do in town including whale watching trips, deep sea fishing, and so many restaurants. We loved the town of Gloucester and the week went by much too quickly. We will definitely return next summer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Salt Island Views. The location was perfect for us - a beautiful quiet neighborhood on the water between Good Harbor Beach and Long Beach! We were able to walk our dog every day on the beach and/or around the lovely neighborhood and the neighbors were all very nice. Inside, the house is very comfy and full of interesting decor. The ocean views from the large deck or just inside the floor to ceiling windows is stunning - in all weather!!

We had a wonderful stay at Salt Island Views. The views from the spacious deck are absolutely fabulous! It would be easy to spend all day there. The home is extremely comfortable, not fancy, spotless clean, and everything you could need for your stay is there, and works great. The location is wonderful; a lovely residential neighborhood, a short walk to Good Harbor Beach, and an easy drive to either Rockport or downtown Gloucester. A couple of suggestions for upgrades: 1) add air conditioning to the downstairs bedroom -- we didn't use that room for sleeping; although had we it would have been hot and humid. And, 2) new kitchen countertops -- these work, but butcher block shows wear over time. Overall, a terrific stay with some wonderful memories, and I expect we will return for more.

This was a second stay at Salt Island Views and it was a delight. Wonderful views, breeze off the ocean, the house is comfortable with a large sitting area, deck and comfortable beds. We have stored many happy memories here. Think that the towel supplier (a service, probably not run by the owner) could invest in better towels, and new ones. Many didn't match and were worn out. ) Aside from this tiny thing, everything else was wonderful and all the appliances, including washer, dryer, dishwasher worked perfectly. There is nothing better than falling asleep and waking to the sound of the ocean and birds singing their hearts out.

We've been guests at least a half-dozen times in this lovely home, and my last review ("Alexander," 2019, below) still holds up--and they've added a hose with a nozzle to spray off sand! (Now my wish list includes a few beach chairs and pillows that aren't quite so thick. But, again, still, quibbles.) Nothing more soothing than gazing out at Salt Island and watching the tide ebb and flow.
