Just up the street from Good Harbor Beach, this well-appointed and perfectly located vacation rental is the ideal home base for your Gloucester beach vacation with family or friends. Over By Good Harbor sits prominently on a grassy knoll with abundant views of Good Harbor Beach and the sea beyond. The main floor wraparound porch is rivaled only by its large second-floor deck--the views only get better as you go up! The home is also just a short stroll down the street (0.2 miles) to Good Harbor's soft sand and sparkling waves.

Enjoy the ocean breezes from your front porch or the verdant lawn planted with tiger lilies on the backyard deck. Inside, the open concept living room invites to you to gather or relax with family or friends and enjoy the flat screen tv and gas fireplace. Just beyond is an adjacent den with queen pullout sofa, widescreen TV, air conditioning, and door to back yard. The large eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with center island, large table and has a door to a back deck, the perfect place to grill.

The second floor has three bedrooms, including a large King primary with mini-split air conditioner, ensuite bath, walk in closet and sliders to the upper deck with superb views, another King bedroom with mini-split air conditioner, walk in closet and a smaller bedroom with double futon and window a/c. The washer and dryer are conveniently located at this level adjacent to another full bath with oval tub and shower.

The garden level features a complete suite perfect for in-laws or an au pair.

The two decks offer magnificent ocean views. The backyard features a gas grill, outdoor seating, and an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after the beach.

With Over by Good Harbor as your home base, you'll enjoy all that Gloucester and greater Cape Ann has to offer. When you are not at the beach, you'll find whale watching, fine cuisine, art galleries and shops all within a short drive.

Lovely spacious home

Very happy staying here. As others have said, the house was super clean, set up with lots of comfy chairs for lounging, very spacious, quiet. Great decks, great view of the ocean, quick walk to beach. Would love to rent it again.

Fantastic Family Gathering

We simply adored this beach house! We had 6 adults and 2 kiddos with us and it could not have been more comfortable! So many spots to curl up and read, look out on the fabulous views! We ate in each night and had plenty of room for others in our extended family to join us for dinner. We ordered from Surfside Subs a couple of times, which was excellent, and we had Woodmans of Essex deliver lobsters, steamers etc. which was also outstanding. The walk to Good Harbor Beach is a snap, even for the little ones. We had family staying over at a hotel on Bass Rocks, and we were able to walk back and forth from there as well. It’s also easy to drive over to Rockport, Folly Cove, etc. from this house. There was nothing lacking at the house - each bathroom supplied with TP and quality towels, the kitchen had every type of tool/ pan/ pot you’d ever need. The bedding and the beds were top quality. We didn’t need to use the air conditioning as it was lovely and ( unexpectedly) dry all of the time we were there. We would love to rent this property again in the future for another summer gathering!

Seaside air for the family

Restful, ample and beautifully maintained home. Perfect for an extended family stay. Distant views of ocean and walkable for a seaside stroll. Our autumn stay was absolutely restorative. A little hitch with the lockbox code transmission was resolved with courteous human intervention. (Technology is great for many things. Humans are still best!)

Family stay

We had a great time at the rental property. The bed in the apartment needs some serious work and the lawn needs to be sprayed as every time you stepped on the lawn you got attacked by mosquitoes. But other than that, everything was wonderful. AVH was very responsive when we let them know that the house did not have a k-cup coffee maker and one was brought over within a few hours. I would stay there again as would anyone else that was there.
