Golden Sands is the quintessential turn of the century Gloucester beach "cottage." With views of Good Harbor Beach, the twin lighthouses of Rockport and the scenic Atlantic Ocean from its wrap around porch and decks, you will never want to leave this amazing beach house.

The main level includes the living room which opens to the verandah and deck, dining room, kitchen, study and half bath. The comfortable eat-in kitchen with walk-in pantry is well stocked with everything necessary to prepare meals for 12 people including a dishwasher, 5 burner gas stove, plenty of dishware, and a large capacity washer and dryer.

The second level has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths (one with a tub & shower off the hall). Two single rooms have ocean views while the primary (with twin beds) has an ensuite bathroom with tub and a door to a lovely private deck. The beds in the single bedrooms are oversized singles. There are window air conditioners in the bedrooms on this floor.

The third floor has 3 more bedrooms (with 6 single beds in total) and a full bath with a tub, as well as commanding views. There are window air conditioners in all of these bedrooms.

Leave your car in the driveway and walk to the beach and experience summer like you never have before! After the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower (with hot and cold water) and relax in the shaded yard and then make a quick dinner using the natural gas Weber grill. You can even use the outdoor mini fridge for cold al fresco beverages. Golden Sands has everything you could want in a summer vacation rental.

Note: An unobtrusive caretaker has use of the garage on the property for equipment storage. He will be accessing garage at the beginning and end of the work day, for maintenance reasons.

Well equipped rental

Awesome location. The view from the wrap porch was spectacular! We all spent much time there. The rental was well equipped with everything we could possibly need. We appreciated the beach towels and chairs, boogie boards, and bocce balls. There were just 2 showers for the 7 bedrooms but the owner is hoping to add another. It was not a problem for us as we made it work. House was clean and beds were comfortable. The owner made us feel very welcome as he personally contacted us to make sure everything was ok. Good Harbor beach is my new favorite on the eastern coast. 7/12 of our family braved the cold water in low tide to walk to the island. We did Cape Ann whale watching & saw 3 whales. Ate at Lobsta Land & Seaport Grill both of which were amazing. I would highly recommend this rental!

Great location

Our family of 3 generations rented this quaint home. Plenty of room for us all. Lots of fun spaces to explore inside & out. Well stocked with kitchen items, linens, beach towels & beach gear. The views were phenomenal. The covered porch allowed us to enjoy views of the ocean even on rainy days. The beach is very close but the house still felt very private. Newell made us feel very welcome. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Great for large groups of beach-lovers

We have rented Golden Sands many times over the past 7 years. It is located just steps from Good Harbor Beach, and yet it is secluded behind a screen of trees for privacy. There are enough bedrooms to host multiple families at once, with all the cooking and serving equipment you could need and more. The vibe is rustic country cottage, which is a huge plus for our family. The views are excellent--especially from the covered porch, where everybody tends to congregate in any weather. It does lack some things that might be expected for such high rent, such as updated bathrooms and air conditioning--it gets uncomfortably hot on the 3rd floor during hot spells--however, for us it is just right.

We've rented a vacation home from AVH for almost 20 years, and it has always been a good experience. The house is always lovely, immaculate, and well supplied with linens, towels, and kitchen needs. For us, the best location has always been Golden Sands, as we come with children in a range of ages.(This is a good thing, because as the grandma, it's by far my biggest expense in the year.) Thanks to all who help to make it a fine week.

Family Reunion at Gloucester

Our stay at Golden Sands was enjoyed by our family to the full. We, 13 people, were very comfortable in the house. It was well equipped with everything we needed. The porch was fabulous. We spent most of our time there. The view was priceless and our family loved that they could walk to the beach. Gloucester and Rockport had much to offer in restaurants, gift shops and sightseeing.

Summer week at Golden Sands: a family tradition

Every time we come it's better. So joyous for children, so relaxing for adults. A box of candy from the owners makes the difference between feeling like aliens on someone else's planet and feeling welcome. We love the hideouts in the bushes (pirate caves) and the audience of penguins, the lived-in feel, the hermit crabs, the view and the beach. I wish the tranquility were not shattered by the neighbors' ground crews with their mowers and weedwhackers. But you can't have everything.

Another Great Week in Gloucester

This was our third year at the Golden Sands, and we continue to love the house. Perfect location. The owner is very nice and the upgrades (eg, Weber gas grill) were appreciated. Bill, the gentleman who helps out with property maintenance, is a great guy. Enjoy dealing with Susan Rey at Atlantic Vacation Homes. Weather was not perfect, but a rainy day at the Golden Sands beats a sunny day in most other places. Our family loves the house and we hope to rent it for many years to come.

Each bedroom was charming, the living room so comfortable, the porch and beach view were awesome. The kitchen was equipped for any type cooking; the location was great for beach walks. Love the Golden Sands

Just returned from a week stay at the Golden Sands on Good Harbor Beach. We stayed in that area for years and this was the best rental we ever had. Location is great and the house is the perfect size for our family. View of the beach was great and we loved the outside deck. Atlantic Vacations Home reps were great. Only suggestion I'd make would be to put the TV in the larger reading room. Would highly recommend. We plan on returning next year.

Very lovely and comfortable house that was very well equipped and very interesting.

All the comfortable belongings that the family left there made it feel like we were in our own home. It was great. The only problem was the gas stove that we felt was dangerous with the buttons popping off.
