Both the living room and the primary bedroom have sliding doors that open onto a spacious, private, sun-kissed deck complete with gorgeous water views, a lounge chair and a table and chairs for al fresco dining, all overlooking the verdant backyard.
The primary bedroom has a queen-sized bed while the second bedroom comes furnished with bunk beds (double on bottom and single on top level). A well-equipped galley kitchen, pleasant full bathroom with tub and shower complete the unit. Outdoors, one can enjoy the large yard, rife with plentiful herbs and flowers.
Conveniently located a very short walking distance away from Good Harbor Beach and scenic Bass Rocks, a short drive away from restaurants, stores, a laundromat, and with easy access to Route 128, Garden by the Sea is one the best vacation spots around.
Please note that the friendly owners live in a separate unit of the house.

What does my rented vacation home provide?
Since all Atlantic Vacation Homes rental properties are residential homes, and not hotel rooms, they are all fully furnished and include a living room, kitchen, and bedrooms and bathrooms as described on each property detail page.
- The kitchen includes cooking utensils, pots & pans, dishcloths, potholders, flatware, dishware, glassware and a corkscrew. Standard appliances include a refrigerator, microwave, stove, toaster, and coffee maker. Some properties are equipped with additional items; please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property. If you require specialty items, such as kitchen scales or food processors, it is best to bring your own.
- Bed linens and bath linens (bath towels, hand towels and face cloths) are provided in accordance with the advertised occupancy of the property. Beds will be made with linens, pillows, blankets, and bedspreads prior to your arrival, with the exception of trundles, top bunks, futons, and sleep sofas.
- The property includes basic housekeeping supplies, such as brooms and dustpans.
- Many (but not all) properties have a landline for local calls. Please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property.
- Air conditioning, beach towels, hot tubs, TVs, DVD players, porch furniture, grills, docks, recreational games and equipment, and other amenities are furnished as a courtesy by the homeowner and are not guaranteed. Please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property for details.
Guests will also receive a “Welcome Kit” that contains:
- An area guide
- One kitchen sponge
- One small bottle of dish soap
- One dishwasher detergent pod or packet
- One laundry detergent pod or packet
- One trash bag
In addition, the complimentary items below are provided as a convenient starter supply for when you first arrive. Additional items beyond the starter supply are the responsibility of the guest.

Perfect for a cozy fall getaway
by GeorgeGarden By the Sea was the perfect place for a two week fall getaway for two people. The hosts were immediately very attentive to any problems or requests that arose, and accommodated a late checkout request. Cozy and scenic best describes GardenBy the Sea.

The view of the ocean and the garden were beautiful. The town is lovely and picturesque. The hosts were the sweetest couple and left scones and chocolate chip cookies as a welcoming gift. We had a wonderful mini vacation despite experiencing a nor'easter storm.

We had a great stay! Our hostess greeted us on arrival and was very welcome. She left us bakery cookies and scones.It truly was only a 5 minute walk to Good Harbor Beach. Our host provided a beach cart with 2 beach chairs and an umbrella, making it so easy to load everything we needed for a day at the beach.Near lots of places to eat both casual and upscale as well as other beaches. Being so close to the ocean there was a wonderful breeze so we never turned the air conditioning on. Loved the sun on the deck for our morning coffee and hearing the sound of the surf at night. Lovely gardens. We would definitely return!

Garden by the Sea is a great spot for 2 or 3 people to share (I’ve done both and 2 was better). The beach is within walking distance and it’s one of the best beaches in New England. You can hear the surf from the deck or even from inside if you leave windows open at night. The hosts were absolutely lovely people and the garden that greets you every day is a reflection of their charm. The kitchen is rather tiny, but I was able to make do using the drop down desk at its entrance as a small prep space. We really only cooked breakfast, so it was fine. We made sandwiches to bring to the beach and dinners were at one of the multitude of choices in town (we even walked to dinner one night as the restaurant was within a mile or so). If you’re looking for quaint and cozy, this place is worth trying out.

Lovely Place to Vacation
by Jenn S.We had a lovely stay at this accommodation. The space is very clean. It\'s centrally located on Cape Ann, near supermarkets, Bearskin Neck, Rocky Neck and shopping. The best part was the 3-minute walk to Good Harbor Beach. The view of the Atlantic is picturesque. I spent mornings on the deck overlooking the beautiful gardens which attracted butterflies and rabbits. The hosts are lovely people who are available for questions but honored our privacy. They directed us to a wonderful second-hand shop where we found lots of treasures. This apartment is on a well-traveled road, so there was a bit of traffic noise. Just thought I\'d note that fact, but we weren\'t troubled by that at all. The kitchen is well equipped with all the basics. Nice, large refrigerator and full-size stove. Big thank you to our hosts for making us feel so welcomed!
