Less for You to Carry; More for Our Cape Ann Families to Eat.
One of the many advantages of staying in a vacation rental is the kitchen! But when vacationers head home, they can’t always take all their food purchases with them. Atlantic Vacation Homes distributes these custom bags to guests and invites them to leave unopened, non-perishable food items that would otherwise be discarded or simply left behind. The collected food is then donated to The Open Door food pantry in Gloucester.
In 2017, The Gloucester Food Pantry provided 1,228,046 pounds of canned goods, fresh produce, meats, bread, dairy products, and eggs to 2,192 households representing 5,216 people. The numbers speak volumes. No matter how large or small of a food donation, every item makes a significant difference to support our Cape Ann families who are in need.
