Country music fans are raving about Kenny Chesney’s newest video, much of which was filmed in last fall in Gloucester, MA. “Knowing You” is the latest single from Chesney’s ninth No. 1 album, Here and Now, featuring familiar locations such as the Dog Bar breakwater, Eastern Point Light, and the bar Pratty’s C.A.V. Chesney is also shown working Gloucester’s waters on a local fishing vessel, Orion. Gloucester and Kenny Chesney are not strangers, as he makes occasional visits to the town.
The song is primarily about love and loss, and the video moves back and forth between a foggy Gloucester and sunnier spots in the Virgin Islands as he sings: “But God, we were so alive / I was a kid on a carnival ride / Holdin’ my breath ’til the moment / When you were gonna leave me too soon / But I’d do it all over / ‘Cause damn, it was good knowin’ you.”
The “Knowing You” video is just the latest of high-profile media projects filmed in and around Cape Ann, joining the likes of Wicked Tuna, Manchester By The Sea, The Perfect Storm, and many more.
