Description

Relax and take in wonderful views of Gloucester's beautiful Good Harbor Beach, with Thatcher Island beyond, from this bright and delightfully furnished two bedroom vacation rental apartment. It is the perfect place to stay during your New England summer getaway!

Both the living room and the master bedroom have sliding doors that open onto a spacious, private, sun-kissed deck complete with gorgeous water views, a lounge chair and a table and chairs for al fresco dining, all overlooking the verdant backyard.

The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed while the second bedroom comes furnished with bunk beds (double on bottom and single on top level). A well-equipped galley kitchen, pleasant full bathroom with tub and shower complete the unit. Outdoors, one can enjoy the large yard, rife with plentiful herbs and flowers. Please bring a cell phone as there is no land line.

Conveniently located a very short walking distance away from Good Harbor Beach and scenic Bass Rocks, a short drive away from restaurants, stores, a laundromat, and with easy access to Route 128, Garden by the Sea is one the best vacation spots around.

What's Included

What does my rented vacation home provide?

Since all Atlantic Vacation Homes rental properties are residential homes, and not hotel rooms, they are all fully furnished and include a living room, kitchen, and bedrooms and bathrooms as described on each property detail page.

  • The kitchen includes cooking utensils, pots & pans, dishcloths, potholders, flatware, dishware, glassware and a corkscrew. Standard appliances include a refrigerator, microwave, stove, toaster, and coffee maker. Some properties are equipped with additional items; please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property. If you require specialty items, such as kitchen scales or food processors, it is best to bring your own.
  • Bed linens and bath linens (bath towels, hand towels and face cloths) are provided in accordance with the advertised occupancy of the property. Beds will be made with linens, pillows, blankets, and bedspreads prior to your arrival, with the exception of trundles, top bunks, futons, and sleep sofas.
  • The property includes basic housekeeping supplies, such as brooms and dustpans.
  • Many (but not all) properties have a landline for local calls. Please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property.
  • Air conditioning, beach towels, hot tubs, TVs, DVD players, porch furniture, grills, docks, recreational games and equipment, and other amenities are furnished as a courtesy by the homeowner and are not guaranteed. Please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property for details.

Guests will also receive a “Welcome Kit” that contains:

  • An area guide
  • One kitchen sponge
  • One small bottle of dish soap
  • One dishwasher detergent pod or packet
  • One laundry detergent pod or packet
  • One trash bag

In addition, the complimentary items below are provided as a convenient starter supply for when you first arrive. Additional items beyond the starter supply are the responsibility of the guest.

  • One full roll of toilet paper per bathroom
  • One box of tissues per bathroom
  • Travel-sized bars of soap in each bathroom
  • One full roll of paper towels in the kitchen

The hosts are so great and do everything they can to make sure you have a fun vacation. So close to Good Harbor Beach and so fun to see people at the beach from your deck. The place is small so be prepared for that. Only suggestion I have for improvement is faster WiFi speed. It is slow.

This is our 2nd year here and just love it!! The location is perfect and the owners are delightful. They bought a beach umbrella for us, mounted an outside light for the yard coming in, and even brought us some delicious scones!!. Heading back next summer!

We had an outstanding experience. The owners are on site and are very friendly and helpful. This was our second time renting this location and we were again very pleased. The property description was accurate. Our family enjoyed the close proximity to Good Harbor beach (just a short walk - about a block to beach access). The space accommodated our family (2 adults and 3 children), but the bathroom and kitchen are both a bit small. This was not a major issue and we were aware of the accommodations before we booked in again this year.

This was our fifth year in Gloucester and my family agrees that this was the best place that we have stayed in yet. We are complete beach bums and boogie board fanatics and our beach of choice is Good Harbor. To be able to WALK to this beach with a loaded beach cart and set up our camp in minutes was simply the greatest thing ever. I say that as the dad who always has to load up the minivan, wait in line to get into the parking lot, pay $15 to park, and then lug all our stuff over hot sand to the spot and back. No more with Garden by the Sea. The owners live in the adjoining house and are very nice and really invested in their guests' happiness. Point is: if I ever come home to our apartment in Brooklyn and find an empty house and missing beach towels, I know that they went to stay in Garden by the Sea.

Couples and families with one or two kids will love this place. If you don't love it, it might be that you have an allergy to awesomeness.

Everyone at AVH was very helpful. We loved Madeleine, the owner. The location was great except backing out of the driveway could be a little treacherous. The facility was very small but very clean and was well equiped.
Having the beach chairs and beach buggy were awesome!

Wished there was a dishwasher and washer & dryer but managed without. We had to leave at 6 am on last day so not having to do laundry was a plus for us. Web site for the property said a beach umbrella was available for use, but Bob (owner) said we could use there's all worked out fine.
Location to good Harbor beach was perfect. Kids really enjoyed this area...

There is total privacy even though the apartment is attached to the homeowners home. It was quiet and wonderful stay. Short walk to the beach was excellent. Homeowners were wonderful and were very kind to our children. Very child friendly atmosphere. Even story books to read to the kids. Highly recommend it.

From the moment I arrived the owners were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The views from the apartment, and from the deck, are lovely, and the beach is only a few minutes walk away.
There is a BBQ grill and a beautiful shaded sitting area in the yard, and the apartment is very comfortable.
Any issues were addressed immediately. I thoroughly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Garden by the Sea. The owners live in the front part of the house, and they were extremely nice and helpful to us while also respecting our privacy. This apartment has a wonderful deck and interior view of Good Harbor Beach and the ocean. The walk to the beach is quick and easy with access to the BEST end of Good Harbor Beach where the creek and the ocean meet. The apartment is rather small, and there is only room for one person in the kitchen at a time, but these points are outweighed by all the pluses. We will look forward to returning to Garden by the Sea soon.

From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we had made a wonderful choice. It's the small things the owners thought of that made the stay more comfortable: like the beach cart with beach chairs; a rocker-recliner in the living room; a TV in the master bedroom; a chaise lounger on the deck; a grill; books; movies; WiFi...we wanted for nothing. Good Harbor Beach is a comfortable walk and you walk onto a calmer part of the beach. A perfect, restful get away for a couple.

Great place, priced right. Kitchen is too small to do any real cooking, which is a little inconvenient. But i guess that is reflected in the price, which is very reasonable. Internet was down for day and half, which was also annoying, but nothing that REALLY mattered. Bob & Madeliene and Marisa and family are all extremely nice and hospitable.

Bob and Madeleine are terrific owners. The property was spotless and well maintained. They were helpful and welcoming to us and to our rambunctious twins.

We were very satisfied with our stay overall. The property was within a short walking distance from the beach. The view of the ocean was like a picture postcard. The DeCicco's were most helpful and friendly. The outdoor grille came in very handy. Lots of large towels were very much appreciated. We would have liked a beach umbrella, but that was unimportant. We would recommend this property to our friends.

This property was perfect for our family of four--we felt at home from our first night. Our daughters slept comfortably in the full and twin bunks, and we enjoyed the privacy of two bedrooms. There are ocean views from the deck and several rooms, and the beach is a short walk away. We cooked full meals most nights in the small but well-equipped kitchen, using the brand new gas grill when the weather cooperated. Our hosts respected our privacy, but were lovely when we bumped into each other. They even brought us scones!
