This apartment in a lovely 19th Century home is located on a quiet side street in Essex that ends in an adjacent woodland. Connected to the quiet owner's home, this "cottage" has its own entrance and driveway, so it feels quite separate.

Enjoy the birds and wildlife that are certain to be seen from the house or walk the variety of trails that can be accessed right from the house. Though set back from the main road, the home is not far from the village of Essex where you can enjoy a variety of boutiques, antique shops and excellent restaurants. Once a major wooden shipbuilding capital, Essex is now a quaint but lively village with much to offer, and is an excellent home base for exploring Cape Ann. The fishing port of Gloucester is just to the east, and boasts the best beaches on Cape Ann, while Rockport is one of the most picturesque villages on the east coast. Manchester-by-the-Sea and Ipswich (home to Crane Beach and the Crane Estate) are both also just up the road, while Boston is just an hour away by car or by train.
