Great photos are a critical tool for vacation rental companies. Prospective guests want to know in advance what a house looks like inside and out, and having high-quality photos is a must so that renters can make informed decisions. Fuzzy or low-lit pictures will leave a negative impression, no matter how stunning the home. Pictures also need to be updated often; when a homeowner gets a new sofa or changes the curtains, the pictures must accurately represent what the guests will see when they arrive.
Traveling around to all the different homes to go on photo shoots is one of the great perks of working for a vacation rental company. Atlantic Vacation Homes recently partnered with local photographer Vignette-Noelle Lammott, who has been infusing our property photos with her signature flair. I got to ride along with her on some recent photo shoots and it was a lot of fun! In between hiding around corners so I wouldn't inadvertently wander into the frame, I found it interesting to follow Vignette-Noelle's gaze and see these properties with fresh eyes.
In addition to taking the requisite "whole room" shots, Vignette-Noelle specializes in capturing small, intimate details in her photos. Closeups of interesting curtains, artwork or geographical features gives the viewer a better sense of the personality of the house. For instance, Victorian House on Rocky Neck lives up to its name with vintage furnishing and styling:
Sunrise on the Cove is an inviting house with whimsical touches:
