Stoney Cove - Gloucester MAStoney Cove Entrance off Rt 128 North

Stoney Cove & Presson Point Reservation is a 53-acre plot of Essex Greenbelt land, a lush mix of riverbank, salt marsh, and forest. Many visitors to Gloucester pass right by it without noticing, as it sits to the right of RT 128, right before the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge, connecting island to mainland. Accessing the entrance and parking area is not for the faint of heart; it requires a sudden turnoff of the highway right after a slight curve in the road, in between exits 13 and 12. If you don't know the entrance is there, you'll definitely miss it! If you do miss it, you can always take exit 12, go up and over the highway overpass, loop back to exit 13 and get back on the highway for another try. There's no shame in missing it on the first few tries. This is a "Glosta Level: Lifelong Local" type of adventure here!

But the rewards (and the view) make all the effort all worth it.
