Achieve your summer vacation goals by planning now for 2019.
If you haven’t yet considered your summer plans for next year, be aware that other people have already started booking their vacations. The Atlantic Vacation Homes reservations team is responding to a steady stream of 2019 vacation rental requests and reservations are filling in.
Booking well in advance is a good idea if you are traveling with a larger group, or have specific needs that you would like met. For instance, if you
- have a family with school-aged children;
- work in a job with limited vacation time available;
- want to time your vacation with a specific event, like a birthday or anniversary;
- need a home that is right on the beach AND has a ground floor bedroom and bathroom AND has central air AND can fit 12 people AND…(well, you get the idea!).
Making your 2019 vacation reservation early means you get your pick of the best vacation rental properties and the best weeks. Holiday periods like the July 4th week and Labor Day week fill up quickly, as do the weeks in late July and early August, when the summer season is at its peak.
Don’t miss out on your beach vacation next summer!

The calendar on your website is showing that my desired property is already fully booked for 2019. What should I do?
If you are on our website and see a property that you are interested in reserving, please contact us. Our reservations team will be able to check on the availability for you and let you know the booking status. If the property has not been unlocked yet, you will be added to the wait list for that specific property and a Guest Experience Specialist will contact you when it is open for reservations. If a property is truly unavailable (i.e., already booked), your Guest Experience Specialist will be able to offer suggestions and recommendations for a suitable alternative that meets your needs.
Next summer seems so far away. What happens if I need to cancel my reservation between now and then?
Atlantic Vacation Homes strongly encourages guests to purchase trip insurance at the time of your reservation. Trip insurance can protect you and your family from expenses you may incur due if illness, injuries, weather, and other unforeseen circumstances prevent you from taking your vacation. We are partnered with CSA Vacation Rental Insurance, who offers Trip Cancellation coverage and Trip Interruption coverage. Other benefits, such as relates to Travel and Baggage Delays, Emergency Assistance, Identity Theft Resolution services, and Concierge services are also available through CSA. Is there a financial benefit if I book early?
One of the best benefits of booking early is being able to space out your payments. Full payment of your vacation is due 60 days prior to arrival, so booking your summer vacation closer to the actual arrival date means that you will have to pay your balance in one lump sum. If you are paying by credit card, you may end up paying off your vacation well after your trip actually takes place. If you reserve your stay now, you can pay half of your rental total when you sign the rental contract and pay the rest at the 60-days-out mark. For those booking in September and October, that means you won’t have to pay the balance until the spring.
Do you have any rental properties that are NOT on your website?
Atlantic Vacation Homes strives to make sure that all available properties are displayed on the website. However, we are often adding new properties to our inventory, so if a property you like is not available, call us to let us know your needs and we will let you know if and when a property is added that will work for you.
Can I book my Atlantic Vacation Homes stay on a booking website like HomeAway or VRBO?
Technically, for many of our properties you can, but we always advise you to book directly with us, either on atlanticvacationhomes.com or by phone at (855) 853-9143 or locally at (978) 290-4331. Most listing sites charge a “traveler fee” (often referred to as a “service fee”) of 6-15% of the total rental amount. This additional fee goes directly to the booking website and makes the cost of booking 6% – 15% higher than the cost of booking the same vacation property directly through Atlantic Vacation Homes. The booking sites also place restrictions on how you can communicate with us, limiting your ability to ask detailed questions about the property, about the area, and about Atlantic Vacation Homes.
