You'll find river life at its best when you stay at this newly-built vacation rental home that sits along the banks of scenic Annisquam River in Gloucester. From the private patio, you will be mesmerized by spectacular sunsets and the parade of boats as they sail, motor, or paddle by.
Annisquam River Sunsets is a comfortable one-level and air-conditioned apartment designed for easy living. From the parking area, follow the short path down a small slope to the private waterfront entrance at the rear of the property. Inside, the cozy living room has plenty of seating and opens to the modern kitchen and dining area. Just off of the living area are two ample-sized bedrooms and a full bathroom. French doors open onto the patio and granite steps that flow down to the grassy yard and down to the dock. Please note that the friendly owners live in the separate upstairs unit.
There is plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy the summer breezes and take opportunities for al fresco dining. Swim in the river, kayak to sand bar, fish for stripers, dig for clams, or simply enjoy the tidal beach. This summer home has easy access to the highway and commuter rail for day trips, and is just a few miles away from Gloucester’s beautiful beaches, Good Harbor Beach and Wingaersheek Beach.
There is off-street two car tandem parking with a short walk to the apartment’s patio entrance.Please note that the friendly owners live in the separate upstairs unit.

What does my rented vacation home provide?
Since all Atlantic Vacation Homes rental properties are residential homes, and not hotel rooms, they are all fully furnished and include a living room, kitchen, and bedrooms and bathrooms as described on each property detail page.
- The kitchen includes cooking utensils, pots & pans, dishcloths, potholders, flatware, dishware, glassware and a corkscrew. Standard appliances include a refrigerator, microwave, stove, toaster, and coffee maker. Some properties are equipped with additional items; please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property. If you require specialty items, such as kitchen scales or food processors, it is best to bring your own.
- Bed linens and bath linens (bath towels, hand towels and face cloths) are provided in accordance with the advertised occupancy of the property. Beds will be made with linens, pillows, blankets, and bedspreads prior to your arrival, with the exception of trundles, top bunks, futons, and sleep sofas.
- The property includes basic housekeeping supplies, such as brooms and dustpans.
- Many (but not all) properties have a landline for local calls. Please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property.
- Air conditioning, beach towels, hot tubs, TVs, DVD players, porch furniture, grills, docks, recreational games and equipment, and other amenities are furnished as a courtesy by the homeowner and are not guaranteed. Please refer to the full amenity list for your specific property for details.
Guests will also receive a "Welcome Kit" that contains:
- An area guide
- One kitchen sponge
- One small bottle of dish soap
- One dishwasher detergent pod or packet

In addition, the complimentary items below are provided as a convenient starter supply for when you first arrive. Additional items beyond the starter supply are the responsibility of the guest.

A fully-applianced, modern kitchen with plenty of counter space and storage for prepping and cooking meals. Just off of the kitchen and adjacent to the living area is the dining area with a dining table with 4 chairs and a cozy bench. Seats up to 6.

What a lovely place to stay. It has the warm personality of the owners who were quick to introduce themselves and share with us all the features of outside and all that could enjoy. The view is so calm and lovely. Each day there was something new to see , from the lovely flowers to the rock garden to the sunset to the mist over the water. We felt tended to, but alone. It was a nice combination. This new place for us was a hidden gem in our book (as was all of Gloucester.) Mass!
Lovely stay in the Cape Ann Region
Annisquam River Sunsets is a true find!
by NinaIt features a newly constructed ground floor apartment that is spacious, well decorated and very clean. The cool living area with central AC is great and the location is over the top! The open kitchen/ dining area and living area, master bedroom have stunning views of the tidal river. There is a shaded and private outdoor area with table and chairs, sheltered from the sun and heat of midday. The colorful perennial garden and lawn has large granite steps that lead down to the dock. At low tide you can explore the beach and at high tide you can jump off the dock for a swim! The use of kayaks, chairs and umbrellas, toys and lifejackets etc. is included. This is a perfect place for an individual, couple, or small family. The owners live upstairs are very friendly and accommodating. We have stayed at many rentals all over the world and this was by far one of the most beautiful. Highly recommended, I certainly hope we have the opportunity to enjoy this lovely property in the future. Thank you Tom and Debbie, Atlantic Vacation Homes.

VERY NEW-WELL APPOINTED-GREAT LOCATION
by TonyThis apartment is wonderful....The owners are very friendly and the place has everything you will need Future renters should be advised of the following The second bedroom is small, has a single bunk bed set up and no windows The place is located on the Annisquam River. Gloucester has 6 to 8 ft tides. (This is important to know and advise)The height varies some related to the movement of the moon. There are 2 low tides and 2 high tides every 24 hrs. The times change each day. When the tide is high, one can jump off the owners dock into 6 or 8 ft refreshing clean water. When the tide is out, (low) the dock is in the mud. The mud is firm and stable to walk on. You might want to wear your sandals however. At low tide, many people walk across this hard mud to the deep water which is at the edge of the boat channel. Know when the tides are high & when they are low so you won't get caught by the incoming tide and have to swim back (TidesNearMe is a good app). I like to swim at high tide and dig clams at low tide. The clams can be found right off the dock..........but be careful because if there has been a recent "red tide" then the clams shouldn't be eaten. The owner will advise.
