A "spindrift" is windblown seaspray which is a regular sighting at this lovely home that is as close to the Atlantic as the ocean will allow. Astoundingly beautiful views from almost every room greet the guest at Spindrift which is a comfortable and spacious four (plus) bedroom two (plus) bath home in Rockport's desirable South End. Sit in the "prow" room with two walls of glass sliders which open onto a deck and lovely yard with a panoramic 270 degree view of Straitsmouth Island ahead and Rockport's famous "twinlights" to the right, and Gap Cove's splendor to the left. The prow room also boasts a large screen TV/VCR/DVD, stereo, high speed wired/wifi internet access and the bonus of a vintage 1970's pinball machine! The rest of the main floor consists of a dining area with a large round table and a woodburning stove; a modern kitchen with dishwasher, double ovens, microwave and custom wood counters; a fireplaced living room with plenty of seating to enjoy the perfect picture window view of twinlights. There is a half bath off the hall, a large queen bedroom ensuite with a full bath (TV/VCR/DVD/stereo) leading to another bedroom with twin beds, a fireplace and a TV (rollaway available). Upstairs you will delight in a king master bedroom with a large flat panel LCD screen/DVD and a sweeping view and another bedroom with twins with wonderful views and a full bath with tub and shower. For teens or adult overnight guests, there is bonus sleeping space over the garage with a single and a double futon, a toilet, sink, TV and a breakfast kitchen complete with mini fridge. The house's layout makes it perfect for two families vacationing together, one family can be downstairs, the other upstairs. Hardy swimmers can cool off in large, naturally protected, tide pool nestled in the property's sea rocks which remains as the tide goes out. Old Garden Beach is 7/10 mile and Cape Hedge beach is approx 1.5 miles and and both are a lovely walks. Drive to Good Harbor or Long Beaches in 5 minutes.

1." What can I say - Location, location, location! You can't get closer to the ocean than this!
House was very well equipped - everything in place and very comfortable. Pinball machine was a fun diversion, along with the multitude of television sets. The real show was sitting in the Prow room watching the ocean and listening to the waves crash against the rocks. Quiet neighborhood and private space... it had every convenience necessary to make the stay fun and no-hassle. I'm sure the house could accommodate many people, but it's cozy enough for just couples. My only regret in writing this review is that other people may catch on to this great getaway."
2. "For the past six summers, we have rented lovely houses at old Garden Beach through AVH. Last summer was our first at Spindrift, and it was a perfect choice for my son, daughter, their families, and me (the mom/grandmother). The house was spacious but comfortable, the views spectacular, and Old Garden Beach walkable for six young children. The house and setting was wonderful to share with family and friends, and we plan to return again to Sprindrift for summer seven in Rockport in building wonderful family memories! We highly recommend!
