Situated on the edge of the sea and directly above the quiet end of Front Beach, this newly refurbished, private and lovely post and beam house is the perfect rental. Located adjacent to the world class Shalin Liu Performance Center Click here for a schedule of events. , just walk next door for an exceptional music experience. Or, enjoy it's proximity to all that Rockport has to offer...just a short stroll away. Centrally located in historic and quaint, downtown Rockport, it offers a surprisingly spacious living area for your ideal vacation getaway! This hideaway boasts two fireplaces, walls of windows, a full length second level large deck, all situated to enjoy unobstructed views of Front Beach and Sandy Bay. It has 3 bedrooms, a den with a pullout sofa, plus a sleeping loft "crow's nest", 3 baths including one that is ensuite off the master, and can sleep 10. Walk to all downtown Rockport's shops, restaurants, galleries and three beaches. There is no landline at the house so please bring your cell phone. Two parking spaces, just down the street from the property, will be included with the rental. Special rates and packages are available in June during the world reknown Rockport Chamber Music Festival. Arrive Thursday and leave Sunday after the concert. We are offering this property by the week or with a 3 night mininum in June. Concierges services are also available such as pre concert dinners of post concert desserts. Call for details.

it gave the family a chance to be together for seven straight day. the beach was never to crowded,plenty of shops and things to do.and it felt like our own for the whole stay. The young ladies at AVH were all very helpful.

Originally we were looking to stay at long beach but when we went to book it had already filled up. As it turned out this was a blessing in disguise. Post and Beam is a beautiful home in the perfect location. Needs a little modernization but this was a minor issue to us thanks to the proximity to front beach and downtown. Only thing that should be addressed sooner than later is the front screen door should be replaced. See you next year! Thanks.

Fantastic location on the water and right downtown with a short walk to the beach. The wall to wall windows on all floors gave us a fantastic view. We can't wait to come back next year.

The Post and Beam is amazing! What a wonderful location, view, peaceful ocean sounds, the entire package! We had problems with our rented kayaks. Front Beach forbid them and the lifeguard was very rude and forceful. AVH you are great! Another awesome vacation, Thanks!

  Due to the rocks and steepness of the grade near the house, we think that beach access is not likely in the near future. You can't beat the location and views and as you know it is only a short walk around the front of the house(along the road) to the beach. We've stayed in this house twice now, and visited Rockport more times than I can count. This was the first year that we've felt comfortable letting our sons (12 and 9) go off on their own, but after making that decision we took full advantage of it. We read on the couches while the kids played at the beach. A lot. We took a long walk while the kids went on a kayak tour. We ate home-cooked squash tarts while the kids walked to Roy Moore's for chowder. A lot. And we walked the beach while the kids went to Tucks for nightly candy purchases. The house was in a perfect location fo rall of these activities. We will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic two week stay at Post and Beam. The location is near Bearskin Neck shops and restaurants, next to the new Performance Center. But when you walk in the door you leave the tourists behind with open views of Front Beach, the harbor, and ocean beyond. Lots of space, nice features like an outdoor shower and upstairs deck, and ocean underneath. The furnishings are due for some updating, but if you can look past an older kitchen and baths, and worn carpets, curtains and artwork, this is an incredible house.

We loved going to a concert next door -- gorgeous space, amazing acoustics, intimate setting, all just a few seconds away.
