Waterfront! Adorable studio cottage right on Smith Cove. Everything you need in one room: a queen bed, a rocking chair sofa, fireplace, stack washer and dryer, new galley kitchen, full bath (tub with shower) and most of all an exquisite verandah with comfy chairs to enjoy the view of Smith Cove. This light-filled studio boasts sliding doors that open onto the verandah as well as skylights. There is on street parking. If you like to canoe or kayak, you can store your boat in the storage room below the Galley and paddle right out into Gloucester Harbor. A true getaway!

    Overall, my four month stay in the Galley was exceptional. The property has a fantasic view and is close to downtown Gloucester. The management staff at AVH was also very professional and helpful throughout my entire stay. I would recommend both the property and AVH to friends and family alike and I look forward to doing business with them again in the future.

    The property was very pleasant in the Fall season. Loved the boat yard/harbor view and watching the tides. The house is charming (except for the dated bathroom). Having the washer/dryer was a real plus. Never did figure out how to use the fireplace. December was difficult because of Huge Snowstorms. House is on a snow route so parking is not available in front of the house then. The bed does not have a headboard and is against a window. So street (truck) noise always woke me up at 6:30am. However - I really enjoyed my stay. Any problems that arose were promptly taken care of.

    I stayed at The Galley for 3 months while working on a movie filming in the area and my only regret is that I couldn't have spent more time there- coming home after a long day and sipping a beer on the porch, watching the boats in the harbor and the tide come in and out while the sun set over downtown Gloucester is a memory I will never forget! The Galley is such a cozy, warm space and is so close to beaches, restaurants and the most beautiful drive (or walk) around the ocean I've ever seen. I can't wait to come back for a real vacation there one day!

    The dishes were all filmed - the only mar on this otherwise wonderful little place. We understand the winter rental was to an old friend of ours, a bachelor - what are you going to do!?
